Treatment and education for pediatric renal and blood pressure issues
At the Children’s Hospital, we believe in caring for and educating families facing pediatric nephrology and hypertension concerns. Pediatric nephrology encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease, renal replacement therapy, and hypertension. Our board-certified nephrologists collaborate with other specialists, such as pediatric cardiologists, neurologists, and endocrinologists, based on the individual child’s situation.
Up to 5% of children and adolescents have hypertension or high blood pressure, so they should have their blood pressure measured at least once a year. Our Pediatric Hypertension Program not only helps treat hypertension but also assists in educating the family and community.
