We are committed to advancing pediatric care through research and clinical trials
The Maimonides Children’s Hospital has the rare opportunity to care for a culturally diverse community. Brooklyn is home to 2.8 million people, nearly half of whom were born in a foreign country. Different ethnicities are predisposed to different health conditions, and our research can assist in providing improved care for children and their families.
Current research includes studies in childhood obesity, child abuse, kidney and brain diseases, birth outcomes, gastrointestinal ailments, and studies in hematology, endocrinology, pediatric cardiology, nephrology, neurology, and pulmonary medicine. We also assess various approaches to improving the quality and cost-efficiency of pediatric care. The Maimonides Research and Development Foundation offers the initial finances required for preliminary data gathering in order to support and propel future funding opportunities.
