We’re leaders in robotic surgery

Maimonides is home to Brooklyn’s largest center for robotic surgery, with more than 25 surgeons performing almost 1,000 minimally invasive procedures with robotic technology each year in a variety of specialties. We’re also designated as a Robotic Center of Excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), highlighting our commitment to excellence in robotic surgery and high-quality patient care.

Precision robotic technology allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with tiny incisions and pinpoint accuracy, even in difficult-to-reach areas. Many patients may be candidates for this less invasive approach. Minimally invasive surgery includes laparoscopic surgery and robotic-assisted surgery. The surgery offers improved recovery time, less pain and minimal scarring. In fact, most people can return to daily activities quickly with little or no postoperative restrictions.

Our state-of-the-art robotic surgical systems are used to treat a range of conditions, including:

  • Abdominal and digestive conditions, including hernia repair and removal, gallbladder removal, and stomach and digestive cancers
