We are the first center in New York City focused solely on women’s neurologic health. Our team includes both neurologists and OB/GYN specialists who work together to understand and treat the issues that are most important to you.
We pay special attention to medically intense times in your life when your body is undergoing significant change, such as pregnancy and menopause. Our care model uses the latest research and knowledge to help you feel your best.

Conditions we treat
Symptoms like changes in memory or mood, increased depression or anxiety, seizures, episodes where you feel you have inexplicably zoned out or lost time, and unilateral weakness or numbness may signal that you require the attention of a specialist.
If you are pregnant, or considering or planning pregnancy, Maimonides specialists offer preconception counseling, comprehensive prenatal care, and postpartum care. Neurologic diagnostic technologies include MRI, EEG, EMG, labs, and epilepsy gene panels.
If you are not yet seeing a neurologist with expertise in your condition, we can help you establish longitudinal care to monitor your neurologic health during and after pregnancy or the onset of menopause.
Our expertise includes care for:
- Stroke: for women who have had a stroke or are at risk of having one
- Multiple sclerosis: a disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord
- Migraine: severe headaches that can be more common in women, especially those with aura
- Epilepsy: a condition that causes seizures
- Myasthenia gravis: a disease that causes muscle weakness
- Cognitive issues: such as brain fog, memory issues, and Alzheimer’s disease
- Women’s neurologic health: related to pregnancy, menopause, and other concerns, including preeclampsia, endometriosis, and hormonal changes.

Our multispecialty expertise
Our neurology team has extensive subspecialty expertise in neuroimmunology, neurovascular health, headache medicine, and neuromuscular health, among others.
On the women’s health side, our specialists include OB/GYNs, maternal–fetal medicine specialists, obstetric and gynecologic surgeons, and menopausal health experts, as well as reproductive health social workers.
