Around Maimonides: September 2023

Maimonides Summer Research Experience Culminates in Night of Research

This year, 39 first-year medical students across eight departments participated in Maimonides Summer Research Experience.  Started in 2020, the transformative eight-week program is designed to foster the advancement of medical research while promoting diversity and inclusion in the field.  This year’s Night of Research took place August 2nd at Barclays Center and marked students’ graduation from the Summer Research Experience.  The event showcased students’ research projects, celebrating their dedication to medical exploration and Maimonides’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine.  The 2023 program cohort represented a significant expansion over previous years. Formerly, the program accepted only ten students in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.  For more information on research at Maimonides, visit https://maimo.org/research/.
