Brooklyn, NY, March 6, 2025 – Caught between caring for aging parents, raising children, and managing full-time careers, women in midlife are often overlooked when it comes to their own health. Recognizing this critical gap, Maimonides Health is breaking new ground with the launch of Brooklyn’s first-ever comprehensive Menopause Center, a groundbreaking healthcare hub designed to support women navigating the complex transitions of perimenopause and menopause.

Located at the Maimonides Doctors Multispecialty Pavilion at 4813 9th Avenue in Brooklyn, this innovative center addresses a critical gap in women’s healthcare.  Statistics show only one in five women between 40 and 60 years old receive a menopause diagnosis, despite 80% experiencing symptoms.

The Maimonides Menopause Center offers a holistic, integrated approach that goes beyond traditional medical care, providing mental health counseling, lifestyle guidance, symptom management, and preventative women’s health services through an integrated model that provides patients with a seamless referral process across specialties, ensuring coordinated care tailored to each woman’s unique needs.

“Maimonides’ new Menopause Center realizes a long-held dream of creating a premier facility offering comprehensive menopause care to our diverse communities of Brooklyn residents,” said Dr. Scott Chudnoff, Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Maimonides Health. “This center addresses a significant gap in women’s healthcare, providing specialized services that have been historically overlooked despite affecting millions of women throughout our diverse communities.”

“I’m incredibly proud to expand Maimonides Women’s Health services through this dedicated center. Our team prioritizes listening carefully to patients, helping them understand their bodies, and addressing health concerns in ways that fit their unique lives,” said Sarah Zuercher, Director of OBGYN Clinical Programs at Maimonides Health. “The Menopause Center represents our commitment to ensuring every woman receives knowledgeable, compassionate care during this significant life transition, and understands that menopause is natural—not something they have to suffer through alone.”

The Menopause Center represents Maimonides Health’s vision that the future of menopause care should be stigma-free, accessible, and comprehensive. By creating this dedicated resource, Maimonides continues its tradition of healthcare innovation while addressing a critical and long-ignored aspect of women’s health.

“Maimonides’ commitment to addressing menopause care is a significant stride toward empowering women throughout Brooklyn and New York City. This initiative not only provides critical healthcare services but also fosters a community where women can find the support and resources they need during this transformative period,” said Samara Daly, Co-Founder and Board Chair of Let’s Talk Menopause.

“The establishment of the Maimonides Menopause Center is a monumental advancement for women’s health in Brooklyn. This center will provide essential, specialized care, ensuring women receive the support and medical expertise they deserve during this pivotal life stage,” said Donna Klassen, LCSW, Co-Founder of Let’s Talk Menopause.
