Eighty doctors receive recognition at Maimonides Medical Center, more than any other hospital in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY (Feb 26, 2024) Maimonides Health announced today that 80 Maimonides Medical Center doctors were recognized as Top Doctors by Castle Connolly, with 40 unique specialties represented among the awardees.
Castle Connolly Top Doctors represent the top 7% of all practicing physicians in the United States. All awardees are peer-nominated, and thoroughly vetted by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team. Doctors are meticulously selected based on achievement of excellence in clinical care as well as other criteria like interpersonal skills.

Six Maimonides physicians were recognized as Top Doctors this year for the first time, in areas of specialty including orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, otolaryngology, and gastroenterology.
“We congratulate all our doctors who received this recognition by Castle Connolly, a reflection of their commitment to care, excellence, and the community we serve,” said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health. “We applaud this dedication to setting the standard for medical care, while continuing to advocate for equity and compassion in caregiving.”
“Fourteen percent of Maimonides doctors were named to this list that represents the top 7% of doctors in the country,” said Dr. John Marshall, Chief Medical Officer, Maimonides Health. “Maimonides doctors continue to raise the bar in patient care every day, and this recognition for so many of our physicians is well-deserved. This award goes beyond understanding medicine and science, and celebrates the work we all do to support the continuity of patient care and wellbeing through treatment.”
