Brooklyn, NY, July 1, 2025 – Maimonides Health hosted its Annual Golf Classic Tournament on June 23 at the North Hempstead Country Club, uniting Brooklyn business leaders and healthcare providers to support vital upgrades for the Maimonides Pediatric Infusion Center.

The $397,240 raised will fund essential improvements, including state-of-the-art equipment, enhanced safety features, and a more child-friendly and comfortable environment for young patients and their families. Maimonides operates one of the only pediatric infusion centers in Brooklyn. Maimonides is the only children’s hospital and pediatric trauma center in Brooklyn, and the only hospital in the borough to be a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research. Maimonides Cancer Center had over 3,700 pediatric visits last year alone.

“We’re incredibly grateful for all our participants and sponsors—those new to the Golf Classic and those providing continued support for Maimonides year after year,” said Dr. Jeffrey Avner, Chair of Pediatrics at Maimonides Children’s Hospital, who also served as the Chair of the Golf Committee for this year’s event. “The funds raised will go directly toward enhancing our ability to provide high-quality infusion services and a patient-centered healing environment for children in need of lifesaving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted treatments.”

“The Annual Golf Classic is an opportunity to connect with community members and local businesses who support our mission of providing Brooklynites with access to critically needed world-class medical services,” said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health. “This year and in years past, their generosity makes a meaningful difference to our patients and families who turn to Maimonides throughout the most difficult moments of their healthcare journeys, and we are grateful to share this commitment to our community.”

Compass One Healthcare served as the event’s Title Sponsor for the second year in a row, building upon their commitment to helping Maimonides provide world-class care as a partner in hospital operations spanning food and nutrition services, environmental and equipment maintenance, and clinical support. More than 40 businesses contributed to the Golf Classic, including Barr & Barr, Pure Project Management, Bensonhurst Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Long & DeLosa Construction, Blue Hill Data Services, Boro Park Center, Gallagher, Kelley Drye, and more.

Last year’s tournament raised $355,000 to support the Maimonides Heart and Vascular Institute.
