City & State New York has recognized John Marshall, MD, Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Maimonides Health, in its 2026 list of Trailblazers in Health Care. The publication’s annual list recognizes the complexity of the public health landscape and spotlights the ongoing work of honorees across sectors who help shape and improve the health of all New Yorkers.
Dr. Marshall is recognized for his role in “strengthening physician operations, performance, and patient experience” here at Brooklyn’s largest hospital system. Dr. Marshall has been with Maimonides since 2003 and was promoted to chief medical officer in 2023. Board-certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Marshall led efforts to establish Maimonides as Brooklyn’s only certified Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, expanded EMS services into the largest hospital-based 911-participating system in the city, launched the Bay Ridge Emergency Department, and played a central role in the hospital’s COVID-19 medical operations.
