Patient Experience Vision + Mission

Mission: To ensure our care delivery consistently meets the spiritual and emotional needs of patients in a comfortable, compassionate, and safe environment.

Vision: As the premiere healthcare organization in Brooklyn, we strive to provide an exemplary experience for all patients, families and staff through our commitment to quality of care and unparalleled innovation.

How We Measure Patient Experience

Maimonides Health seeks to deliver quality patient-centered healthcare by examining the various aspects of patient experience that affect individual preferences, needs and values. A critical component in understanding the patients’ experience is learning from the opportunities provided to improve care. This can be accomplished by collecting patient experience feedback through the use of various instruments and methods, such as the nationally standardized HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey.

Patient and Family Advisory Council

What is a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)?

A Patient and Family Advisory Council is multidisciplinary committee consisting of hospital staff, patient and family representatives that serve as an advisory resource dedicated to enhancing compassionate patient-and family-centered health care at Maimonides Medical Center.

What does the PFAC do?

  • Promotes patient and family centered care principles.
  • Collaborates with staff in creating a patient-and family-centered environment.
  • Review and provides meaningful feedback for educational materials, programs and services.
