More than $525,000 Raised to Support Patient Care and Continued Innovation at Maimonides Breast Center, Brooklyn’s first fully-accredited, award-winning Breast Cancer Center
Brooklyn, NY (October 8, 2023) – Maimonides Breast Center hosted more than 375 guests at their 10th Annual Pink Runway last Thursday evening at the Weylin in Williamsburg. A celebration of the courage, beauty and inspiration of patients and survivors, the event featured 16 Breast Center patients who walked a pink runway modeling designer evening wear.
This year’s gala kicked off Maimonides observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month and raised more than $525,000, funds that are dedicated to advancing Maimonides’ commitment to availing patients of the most innovative and comprehensive suite of treatment and support services.
The first fully accredited Breast Center in Brooklyn, Maimonides has been serving breast cancer patient since 2007. The Breast Center is Brooklyn’s only NAPBC certified program, the nation’s most distinguished recognition for demonstrating a commitment to providing patients with the best care possible through the entire course of treatment.
“I have had the privilege of being part of the Pink Runway for 10 years, and each year, we leave this event even more inspired and committed to their care,” says Patrick Borgen, MD, Chair, Department of Surgery, Maimonides Medical Center and Director, Maimonides Breast Center. “Their joy and pride in sharing this celebration with us fuels our passion, and the funds raised are so important to ensuring we do the very best by each and every individual who seeks our care.”
