Brooklyn, NY, Oct. 16, 2024 —  Maimonides Health held its annual Ride 2 Live, an electrifying motorcycle ride through Brooklyn in support of breast cancer awareness, treatment, and research at the renowned Maimonides Breast Center, Brooklyn’s first fully accredited breast center.

The event, now in its 16th year, is hosted in partnership with the Bikers of Brooklyn riding club. More than 100 participants began their scenic, hourlong ride at Maimonides Breast Center, and celebrated with an afterparty at Dyker Heights Golf Club.

The ride was led by Dr. Patrick Borgen, Director of the Maimonides Breast Center and Chair of Surgery at Maimonides.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out today in support of our mission of providing world-class breast cancer care here in Brooklyn at the Maimonides Breast Center,” said Dr. Borgen. “We work with patients every day on their path to becoming survivors. Events like these help us to create more survivors by raising awareness of the importance of regular screenings that allow us to identify this disease in its most treatable stage.”

Ride 2 Live is part of Maimonides’ yearly Breast Cancer Awareness Month programs. Earlier this month, Pink Runway, the Breast Center’s annual breast cancer survivor fashion show, raised nearly $650,000 to purchase new imaging equipment, which will increase the Center’s breast imaging capacity by 20%.
