Brooklyn, NY, May 2, 2025 – Maimonides Health Executive Vice President of Medial Affairs and Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Marshall, MD, MBA, was recently honored at the 28th Anniversary Gala of Homecrest Community Services (HCS), a nonprofit that provides community-based, multi-social services for older adults, youth, and families living in Southern Brooklyn.

Dr. Marshall’s honor recognized his outstanding contributions to the medical field and his profound impact on the community, shaping a stronger, more inclusive healthcare system. His leadership at Maimonides, which has includedChair of Emergency Medicine, was key to efforts that resulted in Maimonides becoming the only certified Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center in Brooklyn, growing EMS services into the largest hospital-based, 911-participating ambulance service in New York City. He also established directed the hospital’s medical operations response to the COVID-19 pandemic and spearheaded the creation of the Maimonides Bay Ridge Emergency Department.

“It’s a great honor to know that the impact of my work, and that of our whole team at Maimonides, is felt and appreciated by our community,” said Dr. Marshall. “Homecrest is an incredible partner to us — our combined outreach efforts have helped us to remind members of our community that we are here to care for them any time they need us. We look forward to continued collaboration to improve health and engagement with the health care system for Brooklynites.”

Dr. Marshall was among four individuals selected to be honored at the event for their positive impact on the Brooklyn community. The sold-out gala was held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Dyker Beach Golf Course.
