Brooklyn, NY – (Aug. 2, 2024) – Maimonides Health announced that Cody Legler, DNP, APRN, NP-BC, NEA-BC, has joined the organization as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, overseeing strategic, operational, and clinical success in nursing across the system, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient and associate satisfaction.
Dr. Legler brings deep expertise and more than 15 years of experience in nursing and health services administration, most recently at MedStar Health, where he served as System Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Perioperative Services. Prior roles at MedStar include Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. At MedStar, Dr. Legler successfully created and launched a surgical tech apprentice program, leading his team to achieving American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Pathway to Excellence designation, and Baby Friendly designation.
Since 2019, Dr. Legler has also been a member of the adjunct nursing faculty at George Washington University in Washington, DC and Marymount University in Arlington, VA, where he teaches courses in nursing leadership, health policy, innovative care models and quality improvement.
Prior to joining Medstar in 2016, he served as Chief Clinical Officer for LivHOME, a nationwide for-profit home health organization, where he transitioned the organization from care management to a skilled nursing model. Dr. Legler is the immediate Past-President of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders. Dr. Legler holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from George Washington University, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
