Nonprofits World of Giving and Good360 team up to distribute thousands of Nike sneakers and socks to Maimonides staff in appreciation of their heroic efforts on the front lines
Brooklyn, NY (November 6, 2020) – Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn this week announced it had received a donation of 5,500 pairs of new Nike sneakers and high performance socks to distribute to its staff, thanks to a partnership with World of Giving and Good360.
“We are incredibly grateful to Nike, World of Giving and Good360 for their generosity, enabling us to distribute this exceptional footwear to our incredible healthcare workers,” said Ken Gibbs, CEO of Maimonides Medical Center.“These thoughtful contributions are a great show of support for our staff, as our #OneMaimonides team works tirelessly to deliver world-class care for our patients. And they do it all on their feet.”
The donated items are designed specifically for Healthcare Professionals, with the total value of the donation estimated at approximately $1.1 million dollars. Earlier this year, World of Giving distributed gift bags from a major women’s retailer to Maimonides staff, and were inspired to give back once again.
“Borough Park, where Maimonides is based, remains close to our heart, as our office was previously located there,” said Mark Roizman, Co-Founder, World of Giving. “Through this donation, we want to express our deep appreciation to Maimonides staff and let them know that the community appreciates everything they do. We support our healthcare heroes.”
