Brooklyn, NY, Oct. 30, 2024 — Hugo Pizarro, Senior Vice President (SVP) & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), was named a 2024 Hispanic and Latino Leader to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review.
As CHRO, he oversees all aspects of people relations, processes and data within the organization, including talent development, departmental budget and personnel data management, strategic development of Human Resources programs with the medical Center’s strategic priorities, and more.
Since joining Maimonides earlier this year, Mr. Pizarro has led a comprehensive reorganization of the Maimonides Human Resources Department to enhance strategic recruitment, and has initiated a three-year journey to improve employee engagement. He commands over 20 years of experience as a seasoned HR executive with extensive knowledge in organizational development, strategic planning and recruitment, labor relations, benefits administration and leadership development.
“It’s an honor to be recognized on this list along with so many other influential Hispanic leaders in healthcare from around the country,” said Mr. Pizarro. “As a human resources professional, I know the importance of diversity and inclusion to any organization’s success, and we are fortunate to be part of such a richly diverse community and institution here in Brooklyn as we raise the bar for the experience and outcomes of patients and staff from all backgrounds.”
“We congratulate Hugo on this impressive recognition,” said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health. “We are fortunate, as an organization, to work alongside him, benefiting greatly from his leadership, passion, and extensive track record of success in organizational development.”
The list celebrates these leaders for their commitment to the healthcare field, and the ways in which they contribute to healthcare organizations, programs and partnerships that promote health equity and inclusion. Becker’s Hospital Review is thrilled to spotlight these impressive leaders and their accomplishments.
