Brooklyn, NY, Oct. 24, 2024 — Maimonides Health is proud to announce that it has been recognized by Newsweek in its America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2024, as the No. 19 Hospital in New York state, and the only Brooklyn-based hospital to be included. The ranking awards the nation’s 700 leading hospitals, with hospitals from all US states with a capacity of 50+ beds eligible. The analysis is based on quality metrics, professional surveys, patient experience surveys, and patient-reported outcome measures from Statista.
In Newsweek’s individual top doctor recognitions released earlier this year, Dr. Robert Rhee, Director of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, has been named one of America’s Best Vascular Surgeons and Dr. Ervin Teper, Urologic Oncologist and Urologic Oncology Residency Program Director, has been named one of America’s Best Prostate Cancer Oncologists 2024.
These exclusive lists identify only 150 top doctors in the country in their respective specialties. Both Dr. Rhee and Dr. Teper are the only Brooklyn-based physicians to be included in these rankings.
In an era of informed decision-making, it is increasingly important for patients to make well-founded choices about which doctor to consult for their specific condition. To support this process, Statista and Newsweek have partnered to provide comprehensive resources: America’s Best Prostate Cancer Oncologists 2024 and America’s Best Vascular Surgeons 2024.
America’s Best Prostate Cancer Oncologists 2024 were determined based on data sources including Medicare physician performance data, online surveys of medical experts, peer ratings, and certifications from medical boards like the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Urology, and more.
“We are incredibly proud to be the only Brooklyn-based hospital included on America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2024. It is a true testament to our success in our mission of bringing world-class care directly to our community here,” said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health. “Dr. Rhee and Dr. Teper’s prestigious recognitions are also very well-deserved — we are grateful for the first-class they provide to our community each day, and for their consistent push toward excellence that can be felt across our organization.”
“It’s a true honor to be recognized by actual insurance data clinical outcomes,” said Dr. Rhee. “Our entire vascular group’s primary goal is to achieve the best tangible patient-oriented outcomes utilizing the most optimal available minimally invasive therapies.”
“I am truly humbled to receive such personal distinction,” said Dr. Teper. “This accomplishment in large part belongs to the entire urology group, and our leadership’s steadfast vision of excellence and cutting-edge medical care.”
