Judy Bachman, healthcare leader with four decades of experience, named Chief Transformation Officer
Maimonides Health today announced several changes to its leadership team that will help strengthen the organization by enhancing and transforming its operations. Veteran health care executive Judy Bachman has been named Chief Transformation Officer while Declan Doyle, Senior Vice President for Clinical Programs and Operations, will take on additional leadership responsibilities within the organization.
“Maimonides remains dedicated to providing world-class care to our patients,” said Ken Gibbs, CEO of Maimonides Health. “To further this mission in a challenging period for the healthcare industry, we are excited to have a number of new leaders including Judy Bachman join the organization. Judy brings to the table over four decades of healthcare experience, and I look forward to working closely with her and a number of new colleagues as she leads transformative initiatives that will make our health system stronger than ever.”
Judy joins several other senior leaders who have joined Maimonides this year, collectively bringing decades of experience working at leading hospitals and health systems. In January Nicole Kirchoffer was appointed Patient Experience Officer, a role in which she will oversee initiatives to improve the overall experience of patients and families. Nicole, a nurse by training who holds a doctorate in nursing practice, brings prior experience as an administrator at NYP Weill Cornell Medical Center as well as in a prior stint at Maimonides.
In March Maimonides named veteran healthcare finance executive Robert Palermo Chief Financial Officer. Robert joined Maimonides from One Brooklyn Health, where he served as CFO. Previously, he was SVP for Finance at Hackensack Meridien Health in New Jersey. Also in March, Maimonides welcomed accomplished development professional Bettina Alonso in the role of SVP & Chief Development Officer, in which capacity she is working closely with VP for Philanthropy Heshy Augenbaum to grow philanthropic support for Maimonides. Previously she was Executive Director for the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation and Executive Director of Development for the Archdiocese of New York.
In April Steven Sakovits joined Maimonides as Chief Information Officer, bringing three decades of healthcare IT experience to the organization as he works to strengthen its technology platforms. Steven previously held the role of CIO at Stamford Health in Connecticut and at Hackensack Meridien. Also in April, Robert Ren was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital where he will oversee a number of key departments. Over the course of three decades Robert has served as an administrator at several hospitals in New York, most recently Richmond University Medical Center.
With the addition of these leaders, working alongside Maimonides’ existing leadership team, the organization will be well-positioned to enhance operations, finances, and services as it navigates the pandemic-related challenges present across the City’s entire healthcare system – especially for those institutions serving our most vulnerable communities.
Judy Bachman has previously held several executive roles in the health care industry – from clinician to administrator to strategist. Most recently she was with Crozer Keystone Health in Pennsylvania as system Chief Operating Officer and CEO of Crozer Hospital. Prior to that she held roles at Temple University Health, where she served as COO of Fox Chase Cancer Center for eight years; and at Thomas Jefferson University & Health System, where for six years she was SVP for Strategic Initiatives. She has also done several stints as a management consultant, working with hospitals and health systems across the U.S. on projects related to clinical transformation, operational improvement, service line development, IT, and research strategy.
As Chief Transformation Officer, Judy will be leading the development and implementation of transformation plans. In addition, Judy will serve as interim Chief Operating Officer.
