Diagnosing GI motility issues
In addition to standard imaging tests, including x-rays, sonogram, CT scans, and MRIs, Maimonides uses state-of-the-art diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions that examine GI motility, GERD, stomach, small bowel, and colon, as well as anorectal function.
Our testing and treatment considerations include diet, eating patterns, medications when needed, patients’ sleep patterns, and effects of stress, and proper nutrition as they all often converge to play a role in patients’ symptoms and condition. By combining modalities such as diet and behavioral therapy, stress management and biofeedback, pharmacologic interventions, or various endoscopic or surgical therapies, our team aims to treat the underlying cause of a patient’s symptoms and create a comprehensive and effective treatment plan for optimal results and satisfaction.
