What to expect at your first visit
If you’re here for an annual eye check-up
Your visit typically begins with a review of your vision, eye health history, and any changes you’ve noticed since your last exam. You may have vision testing, eye pressure checks, and a close look at the health of your eyes using specialized instruments. Your ophthalmologist will discuss the findings with you, answer questions, and discuss any follow-up or treatment you need.
If you have a specific eye concern
If you’re visiting because of a specific eye concern, the ophthalmologist will focus on evaluating that issue. The visit may include tests to help identify the cause. You’ll leave with a clear explanation of what’s happening, treatment options, and guidance on follow-up or next steps.
