Welcome to the Orthodontic Residency
The Orthodontic Residency Program is a 3-year, hospital-based program that accepts 2 residents per year. Our program focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Orthodontic malocclusions and craniofacial abnormalities. Orthodontic residents receive training from board-certified attending staff. 1st-year residents participate in weekly rotations at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Kings County Hospital. Orthodontic residents actively participate in monthly orthognathic and cleft palate conferences, which are held in conjunction with the oral surgery program at Kings County Hospital. We encourage our residents to present their research and cases at regional and national orthodontic meetings. A publishable research project should be completed before graduation.
Our residents attend monthly meetings with the Department of Dentistry, monthly conferences in orthognathic surgery, and monthly cleft palate meetings.
