About Me

Dr. Khan is a pediatric neurologist at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she leads the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Program. She specializes in the care of infants, children, and adolescents with epilepsy and seizures, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, headaches, developmental disorders, and a broad range of neurological conditions. Her clinical and research interests focus on neurodevelopmental disabilities, early childhood brain development, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences and early-life trauma on the developing brain.

Dr. Khan earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health and completed a Certificate in Child Protection at Harvard University. She completed her pediatrics residency at Boston Children’s Hospital and her child neurology residency at Boston Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Khan has authored research published in leading neurology journals and serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Child Neurology and Neurology. She previously served on the editorial board of the Harvard Public Health Review. Her advocacy has been recognized through the American Academy of Neurology’s Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum, and she is an international recipient of The Diana Award for her work on behalf of vulnerable children. She has also contributed to ABC News’ Medical Unit and national health reporting team.

Dr. Khan serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She is dedicated to advancing pediatric neuroscience through patient care, research, education, and advocacy, while providing compassionate, family-centered, evidence-based care that helps every child achieve their fullest potential.
