Michele Kerner, ACSW, LCSW-R, received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from State University College, Oneonta, New York and her master's in Social Work from New York University. She has over 30 years of clinical experience working with various populations, including the developmentally disabled. She has also been the Chief of Outpatient Social Work in the Department of Psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center since 2006. In this capacity, Ms. Kerner has provided both clinical and administrative leadership to outpatient social workers, facilitated department's Grand Rounds as an approved site for continuing education credits for social work, and served as the Educational Coordinator for the social work internship program. This program is affiliated with six schools of social work in the NYC area and provides field placements for second year graduate students. In addition, Ms. Kerner is also a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers as well as an adjunct associate professor at the Silver School of Social Work, New York University.
