Dr. David A. Silver is the Director of the Division of Urology and the Chief of Urologic Oncology, Department of Surgery, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He has a private practice, specializing in Urologic Oncology and Oncologic Surgery. Presently, he also an Assistant Attending at Staten Island University Hospital, Wyckoff Heights Hospital, and Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Silver completed his residencies in surgery and urology at Maimonides and his fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Silver is active in research and publishes extensively. He is a pioneer in the application of robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical techniques to urologic procedures. Dr. Silver serves on the 13-member New York State Prostate and Testicular Cancer Detection and Education Advisory Council. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the New York State Medical Society, the Kings County Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Silver has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the N.I.H Training Fellowship in Surgical Oncology, the Resident Research Prize, the National Dean's List, the Samuel Belkin Memorial Scholarship, the Martin Marietta Corporation Foundation Scholarship, and the N.I.H. Training Fellowship in Experimental Neuropathy.
