Speech language pathologist evaluates and treats individuals of all ages who experience challenges with communication, speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing. For Children: SLPs help children with: - Speech delays or articulation disorders (difficulty producing sounds correctly) - Language Disorders (trouble understanding or using spoken or written language) - Stuttering/Fluency disorders - Social/pragmatic communication difficulties - Feeding and swallowing issues - Voice disorders For Adults: SLPs work with adults who may have communication or swallowing issues related to: - Stroke (Aphasia, Dysarthria, Apraxia) - Traumatic brain injury - Neurodegenerative disease (e.g., Parkinson’s, ALS, Dementia) - Voice Disorders - Cognitive-communication deficits (memory, attention, problem solving) - Swallowing disorders (dysphagia) - Voice and swallow restoration after treatment of Head and Neck Cancer.
