Thank You, Team Maimo!
Last November, Maimonides Health leadership and several community leaders gathered to take the opportunity to celebrate and thank our extraordinary staff for continuing to deliver excellent patient care. This consistent effort is not only recognized internally – organizations such as Healthgrades have distinguished Maimonides Medical Center with high rankings several years in a row.
“Maimonides is an exceptional hospital and hospital system,” said Kenneth D. Gibbs, CEO of Maimonides Health. “The team here is second to none. That’s the truth. If you have a serious, life-threatening challenge, where it’s a matter of minutes or seconds, this is the place you need to be.”
Rivka Mintz, MSN, NP-BC, Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Maimonides Medical Center, commended staff for their empathetic, expert patient care.
Many supporters and friends from around the community came out to voice their appreciation for Team Maimo’s critical work, including leaders from Chevra Hatzalah Volunteer Ambulance Service, United Senior Center of Sunset Park, and the Chinese-American Planning Council of New York City.
“Thank you to everyone who works at Maimonides, said Rabbi Yehiel Kalish, CEO of Chevra Hatzalah. “We are greatly appreciative for the service that you bring to our community. It would be impossible for our community to withstand everything that we have to go through on a regular basis without the dedicated staff of Maimonides. We are tremendously grateful for the partnership we have with you.”
Areita Guy, Maimonides employee and breast cancer survivor who was treated at Maimonides; Pastor Terry Lee of Byways and Hedges Church; and New York City Council Member Justin Brannan also spoke of their personal experiences at the hospital, thanking staff for their service to their own families and the community at large.
As 2022 comes to a close, Maimonides has much to reflect upon and be grateful for, not the least of which is the amazing community the hospital serves and a team like no other.
