Medical school: SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University
Undergrad: Brooklyn College BA-MD Program / Macaulay Honors College

Best part about training at Maimonides: The camaraderie among the residents and mentorship from our attendings have been the biggest standouts for me. The program genuinely feels like a family and a place I can call home. There is a strong emphasis on graduated autonomy both on the floor and in the OR, which allows us to gain meaningful hands-on experience and develop clinical decision-making skills early in training. We also have excellent access to research databases and mentorship, making it easy to get involved in meaningful research alongside our clinical training.
One thing I enjoy about living in NYC: I was born in Brooklyn and am Brooklyn through and through, so being able to train in NYC feels like home. I love the culture and energy of the city. Every cuisine imaginable is at your fingertips—including, arguably, the best chicken parm in the world—with endless access to restaurants, sports, concerts, and entertainment throughout the five boroughs. At the same time, it is easy to get out of the city for longer excursions to Long Island, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas, so you really get the best of both worlds.
