Research at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic surgery research at Maimonides

Research is an important component of the orthopedic resident’s experience. Treatment modalities, technology, and policy are constantly changing within our dynamic field. Critical analysis of peer-reviewed publication, presentation, and development of study design are integral to a successful orthopedic career. All of our residents are involved in research, and the majority graduate with multiple publications. Ultimately, in line with our program’s mission, the educational advancement is to improve the quality of life and outcomes in the patients we serve.

Our residents have scholarly work featured in some of orthopedic surgery’s top journals including Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research, JAAOS, Spine, Journal of Arthroplasty, and many more. Residents travel to present at national and regional conferences to showcase their work. Our residents have presented at national and international conferences including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Clinical Orthopedic Society, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, International Society for Technology and Arthroplasty, Eastern Orthopedic Society, New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, and many more.
