Diabetes Education & Self-Management
Maimonides offers patients diabetes self-management education, skills, and technology support. Our Certified Diabetes Education and Care Specialists (CDCES) empower people with diabetes with the knowledge and skills to control their condition, including providing technology expertise to help select the right continuous glucose monitors (CGM) and insulin pumps for their needs. Education and ongoing support improve quality of life and help patients lower their risk of diabetes-related complications.
Maimonides Diabetes Education & Self-Management program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The ADA’s Education Recognition Certificate assures that educational services meet the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. Nutrition Services
Maimonides offers personalized medical nutrition therapy for weight loss, heart disease, pre-diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders such as GERD, Celiac and IBS. For weight loss patients, our dietitians provide education and support before and after bariatric surgery, as well as for those taking weight loss medication. Services are provided by our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and include nutrition therapy and body fat testing. Nutrition services are covered by most insurances.
