Caryn Kleinmann is one of many breast cancer survivors to walk in Maimonides Health’s 2025 Pink Runway, an annual event celebrating survivors’ strength, resilience, and determination.
Kleinmann’s cancer journey began when she happened to notice something that didn’t feel right in her breast. Within a few weeks she had a breast cancer diagnosis. Her treatment plan included chemotherapy and a double-mastectomy. Genetic testing revealed a BRCA mutation, and further lab tests confirmed she also had ovarian cancer.
A New Jersey native, Kleinmann says, “I came to Maimonides because of Dr. [Patrick] Borgen. When I met him, I told my family there was just absolutely no way that I’m stepping away from him. There was just going to be nothing that was going to pull me away from being with the Maimonides Breast Center and the care that I was going to be receiving here.”
