Dr. Roee Ber, MD, is a neurosurgeon dedicated to building a true partnership with his patients. Dr. Ber believes that the best outcomes come from working closely with each individual to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits their unique needs and goals. He prioritizes open communication, ensuring that patients feel heard, informed, and supported every step of the way.
Dr. Ber's path to becoming a neurosurgeon involved rigorous training and learning from some of the most renowned spine surgeons in the field. During his residency at NYU Langone and fellowship at Northwell Health, he had the privilege of working alongside leaders in neurosurgery who taught him not only the technical aspects of the most complex spine surgeries, but also the importance of a multidisciplinary holistic approach.
For spinal tumors, Dr. Ber collaborates with the medical and radiation oncologists to decide on the best treatment approach. For patients with degenerative pathologies, he believes in a conservative approach, exploring all non-operative measures involving physiatrists, neurologists and pain doctors before deciding on surgical treatment.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ber is deeply passionate about improving the ways in which surgical teams communicate and collaborate. He has been actively involved in groundbreaking initiatives focused on innovation in surgical teamwork. By fostering effective communication and shared mental models within surgical teams, Dr. Ber aims to enhance patient safety, reduce risks, and ensure better surgical outcomes.
