Dr. Kupferman is a national/internationally renown pediatric nephrologist who has been the Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension at Maimonides Medical Center for the last 20 years. Dr. Kupferman is Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor at SUNY Downstate; he is a very active clinical researcher, educator and patient advocate who has published 80+ peer-reviewed articles/reviews/chapters. In addition, Dr. Kupferman was the Spanish Medical Reviewer for two popular books in Spanish for parents published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Kupferman is a member of multiple academic societies and regional and national committees; he currently serves in the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section of Nephrology, is the Diversity & Inclusion Champion for AAP District II-New York State and Chair of the Communications Committee of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology. He has received many academic awards including the "National Medical Award in Pediatric Nephrology" and has been "Best Doctor" since 2005, and Brooklyn "Top Doctor," Castle Connolly, Pediatric Nephrology in 2019 and 2020. Most importantly, he loves taking care of all children and is passionate about improving the health and well-being of his young patients.
