Dr. David Edelstein is a surgeon in the Maimonides Bone Joint Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Edelstein completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center and his fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute. Dr. David Edelstein is actively involved in research and has published articles in orthopedic and hand journals. He has also presented research at regional and national hand conferences. His clinical interests include arthroscopy and minimally-invasive joint surgery of the hand and wrist. Dr. Edelstein’s treatment philosophy utilizes a multimodal approach to hand and wrist problems, including an in-office hand therapist, splints, injections and surgery. To avoid wrist problems, he advises avoiding hyper-extension of the wrists by keeping them straight in during activities ranging from doing push-ups for exercise to typing on a keyboard. Dr. Edelstein believes in managing patient care without surgery if at all possible, and welcomes all patients, from newborn to the elderly.
