About Me

Dr. Alexander Arroyo is a pediatric advance life support instructor and focuses on pediatric sedation Point of Care ultrasound and wound management. His research expertise is in the area of point of care ultrasound diagnosis and education. He has been practicing at Maimonides Medical Center since 2006 where he has been the Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine since 2012 as well as Vice Chair for Emergency Medicine. He and the emergency medicine leadership were instrumental in the formation of the pediatric trauma center at Maimonides, the only accredited leveled trauma center in Brooklyn for children. He is currently spearheading the opening and management of the new pediatric emergency department set to launch in September of 2025. Dr. Arroyo has lectured around the world and is an expert in point of care ultrasound and has published dozens of research papers. He has dedicated his life to the care of injured and ill children and the education of residents to care for kids in every corner of the globe.
