Inpatient care available 24/7
Hospital medicine is 1 of the notable changes in medical care in the United States in recent years. At Maimonides, our hospitalist program ensures that patients always have someone available to manage their care and answer any questions they may have, day or night. Our goal is to alleviate any concerns you might have about your care by being as helpful, informative, and understanding as possible. To best meet the needs of our patients, our staff collectively speak Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Italian, Russian, and Urdu.
What is a hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a full-time, board-certified internist who specializes in providing comprehensive medical care for patients in the hospital. They provide continuous and direct care for hospitalized patients, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Hospitalists work in cooperation with your personal physician and provide them with regular progress reports to ensure that you receive the optimal level of care. After discharge, your personal physician receives a summary of your hospitalization and resumes responsibility for your care.
