Dr. Arshia Sandozi is a urologic surgeon at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed her urology residency training at Maimonides, where she was recognized with multiple research and clinical awards, including the Maimonides Resident Research Award and top honors at national and regional conferences.
Dr. Sandozi’s academic work focuses on health disparities, gender equity, and patient-centered outcomes in urology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on topics ranging from sexual harassment in medicine to disparities in infertility care and the influence of social media on patient education. She has also contributed to the AUA Core Curriculum and published in Urology, Urogynecology, and Sexual Medicine.
In addition to her clinical and research contributions, Dr. Sandozi is actively engaged in advocacy and professional leadership. She has served on the Society of Women in Urology Census Taskforce, reviewed abstracts for the American Public Health Association, and held roles in medical education and health policy organizations throughout her career.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from Des Moines University and her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a minor in Neuroscience from Carleton College.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sandozi enjoys reading, traveling, running, and baking. She is conversant in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
