Vadim Nakhamiyayev, MD, PhD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon with 30 years in medical practice. Dr. Nakhamiyayev has special interests and training in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, colorectal surgery, and surgery of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Azerbaijan Medical Institute in Russia, and also earned a PhD at the Azerbaijan Scientific Gastroenterology Research Institute, where he completed a research fellowship in liver, pancreas and bile duct reconstructive surgery. He conducted post-doctoral research in hepatic tumors at the Moscow Medical Academy, where he was Senior Staff Scientist. Following medical school, he completed surgical residencies at New York Methodist Hospital. Dr. Nakhamiyayev has expertise in performing minimally invasive procedures using laparoscopic and the robotic surgery. He has presented at professional conferences and authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
