Dr. Berger was born and raised in Brooklyn, and upon graduation from Yeshiva of Flatbush, was accepted to the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College. After five years at Sophie Davis and the final two years at SUNY-Downstate, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Berger then spent seven years as a General Internist in Brooklyn, where he developed a strong interest in Cardiology. He then decided to go back to training and completed four years of cardiac training at SUNY-Downstate, including a year of subspecialty training in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Berger then opened his office on Avenue J, where he and PA Malavsky currently see a wide variety of patients, with a focus on cardiac disease in general, and prevention and cardiac rhythm abnormalities in particular. Dr. Berger's practice provides the personal attention of a private practice, with the benefit of access to the top-notch specialists at Maimonides Medical Center.
