About Me

Dr. Sophia Lubin is a proud first-generation Haitian-American. She is a single mother of two outstanding young men, Tyler 20 and Maxwell 16. Tyler is currently attending Hunter College and Maxwell is a budding artist in the 11th grade with a bright future ahead of him. Dr. Lubin is a board-certified OB/GYN in New York. She is a native New Yorker and holds a BS in Biology from The City College of NY. She obtained her medical degree from NYIT-New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her OB/Gyn residency training at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan which is now Mount Sinai –Beth Israel. She is a member of ACOG(American College of Obstetrics Gynecology) and has been clinical faculty at NYIT-NYCOM. She has also taught medical students who are a part of the prestigious Sophie Davis CUNY School of Medicine. Additionally, she annually teaches Howard Medical Students through a hands-on experience as a member of NOAHNY, a nonprofit organization that has built a hospital in the northern part of Haiti. Dr. Lubin is also a member of MiMSI(Modification In Mother-Baby-Mortality Initiative) which is another nonprofit organization that provides prenatal care to the women of the south of Haiti. These organization travel to Haiti on medical missions throughout the year providing much needed medical services. Dr. Sophie, as she likes to be called, is a committed humanitarian who has provided medical relief efforts in places like the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After the 2010 earthquake she was interviewed by Anderson Cooper and received a NYC Congressional Award, as a first responder. She continues to visit Haiti on an annual basis where she provides free OB/GYN care. Dr. Sophia Lubin is currently practicing in Brooklyn at The Brooklyn Heights Women's Center, where she works alongside the famous Dr. Milicent Comrie. She is also a faculty attending at Maimonides Medical Center where she provides a wide range of services including pap smears, sexually transmitted disease screenings, breast cancer screenings, birth control and management of disease processes like irregular periods, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. She helps women with menopausal symptoms and all surgical interventions as needed. In addition, she is the proud owner and CEO of Young Forever Aesthetics. At her practice, she focuses on noninvasive cosmetic techniques and has a special interest in women's sexual health. Dr. Lubin realized the relationship between a women's sense of confidence was often in direct correlation to her commitment to her health. Prior to embarking on her medical career, Sophia was a science teacher educating middle school students. When she is not providing medical care, you can find Dr. Sophie at home with her two sons. Her other interests include traveling, dancing and exercise. She speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. Dr. Lubin is involved in a myriad of community efforts including hosting special events called “Ladies Night Out”. She is passionate about broadening her scope of practice to help women lead happy, healthy and empowered lives. Dr. Lubin lives by her favorite quote written by famed poet and author Maya Angelou: My mission is life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style!
