Mohammad Hamshow, MD has more than 15 years of surgical expertise in general, hepatobiliary and transplant surgery. Currently, Dr. Hamshow is a faculty member in the Department of Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center, where, in addition to taking trauma and emergency general surgery calls, he performs general surgery cases with special interest in liver, pancreas and biliary ducts diseases. He graduated in 2001 from Aleppo University-Faculty of Medicine and went on to complete five years of general surgery training. Dr. Hamshow worked as an Assistant Consultant in Hepatobiliary Surgery in the Liver Transplant Department at the King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2006 to 2013. In 2015, Dr. Hamshow completed two years of clinical fellowships in abdominal transplant surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center and immediately following, joined Maimonides Medical Center. Throughout his surgical career, Dr. Hamshow has participated in important research activities in the fields of transplant, immunosuppression and HCV treatments. Additionally, Dr. Hamshow practiced general and hepatobiliary surgery in both North America and the Middle East.
