Dr. Ludovico Guarini is the Associate Chair of Pediatrics and the Director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Children's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He attended medical school at Universita Di Napoli in Italy. Dr. Ludovico Guarini has published over 35 peer reviewed articles and abstracts in various medical periodicals. He has been active in research for more than 30 years and has received numerous grants for his work. Dr. Guarini special interests include leukemia, sickle cell disease, and thalassemia. Presently, Dr. Guarini holds the academic title of Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at SUNY Health Science Center. At Maimonides, he currently serves on the Executive Committee, the Faculty Practice Board and on the Education Committee in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Guarini also teaches at our Pediatric Residency Program and the Pediatric Medical Student Program. He believes in family-centered care, and treats all children and their families with compassion.
