Dr. Negar Niknam attended a seven year medical school in Tehran, Iran, where she was born and raised. Although she was an athlete, she pursued a career in medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Queens Hospital Center - Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she was Chief Resident and was awarded 'Best Resident in Teaching and Research'. She completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at Maimonides Medical Center. She then completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the University of South Florida - Tampa General Hospital and the Moffit Cancer Center. Today she is an advanced/therapeutic endoscopist at Maimonides, performing a variety of advanced procedures, and is part of the Maimonides Pancreas, Liver and Biliary Program.
