Dr. Ramsey Asmar is a multi-board certified physician in the Division of Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center. After earning his undergraduate degree at Stanford University, Dr. Asmar attended Wayne State University Medical School, where he graduated with distinction. He subsequently completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He spent 4 years on the University of Michigan faculty, as a Clinical Instructor and Director of their Hematology Hospitalist program. He then completed his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at New York Presbyterianu201a Columbia University Medical Center. While at Columbia, Dr. Asmar authored a number of peer-reviewed articles, helped design clinical trials, and led a variety of research initiatives for novel strategies in the treatment of lung cancer. Dr. Asmar has been in practice as an oncologist and hematologist since 2016. He is trained to treat all malignancies and blood disorders, but specializes in the management of lung cancer, colon cancer and other gastrointestinal neoplasms. He provides the highest quality of patient-centric care with great compassion, gearing his up-to-date knowledge of an ever-changing field to the needs of each individual patient.
