Michael G. Kantrowitz, DO, MS is an attending in the Division of Gastroenterology at Maimonides Medical Center providing both inpatient and outpatient consultation for digestive diseases as well as performing endoscopic procedures. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as Vice Chair for Quality and Safety in the Department of Medicine and received his Master's in Healthcare Quality and Safety from the College of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University. He also plays a prominent role in educating resident physicians as an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine residency program. Dr. Kantrowitz attended medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Maimonides and was then selected as a Chief Resident. He went on to be the medical center's fellow in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and subsequently an Associate Patient Safety Officer before returning to clinical training in gastroenterology at Maimonides. Combining his passion for helping patients navigate gastrointestinal disease with his interests in quality and safety, Dr. Kantrowitz seeks to provide a high standard of care.
