He then completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he served as Chief Fellow in 2016-2017.His research and focus has been in gastrointestinal malignancies and he is working to develop the GI and head and neck malignancy program at Maimonides Cancer Center to further integrate and provide access for the Brooklyn population to the world class clinical trials, cutting edge targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. “My goal is to provide a personalized approach to patient care, and at Maimonides Cancer Center we’re able to give encouragement to patients and their families, and I personally hope to provide care for both. As a physician, I’m always aware that serious illness is difficult for the whole family—this is something I’ve learned through personal experience. I always try to go the extra mile for my patients, whether that means taking additional time to go over a treatment plan a second or third time to ensure that a patient or his or her family understands and feels comfortable, or sending a tumor specimen for advanced molecular interrogation to ascertain specific mutations that may further tailor and personalize treatment, to searching for the best clinical trial available to give hope in aggressive cancers with few options.
