Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger is an experienced urologist. He is a physician-surgeon who specializes in the treatment of patients with complex urological conditions. Dr. Shteynshlyuger is one of the few urological surgeons who has received fellowship training in urological oncology and endourology. He offers surgical and non-surgical treatment. His publications have been quoted extensively by government agencies, national treatment guidelines, as well as other researchers. He is involved in public policy on the state and national levels. He has served as a reviewer of academic manuscripts for some of the most venerable publications in medicine including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and the Journal of Urology, among others. Dr. Shteynshlyuger graduated from public schools in New York City with honors. He went on to Brandeis University for undergraduate education. He graduated with honors double-majoring in Biology and Economics. He then came back to New York for his medical education at the highly ranked SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. Subsequently, Dr. Shteynshlyuger trained in urology at Maimonides Medical Center, the Washington University in St. Louis, as well as at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Shteynshlyuger has expertise in treating erection and penile problems including surgical treatment with penile implant and Peyronieu2019s plaque excision with grafting. He treats urinary problems and kidney stones in men and women. For men suffering from symptoms of an enlarged prostate, he offers treatment with laser enucleation of the prostate, Rezum, and Urolift procedures. He treats patients with urinary bladder cancer, kidney cancer, and prostate cancer. He sees patients in his office as well as in hospitals.
