We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Organizational Wellness at Maimonides Medical Center. In partnership with the Senior Director of Organizational Wellness, you will provide medical evaluation and basic medical treatment to employees while assessing their ability to function within their job description. You will perform pre-employment physical examination and assessment to ensure compliance with regulations prior to certifying employee for hire; Play a leading role in developing all employee education programs to promote wellness and prevent illness and injuries; Collaborate actively with Senior Director of Organizational Wellness, and VP, Benefits & Employee Experience in establishing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Specifically, you will:

• Conduct pre-employment physicals, performing a comprehensive health assessment of prospective employees to ensure that prospective employees are capable of performing their job functions and to discover real or potential health problems.
• Obtain and record a complete health history (including vital signs)
• Drug screening, obtaining necessary lab samples and ordering appropriate lab tests
• Follow up to ensure necessary information received (e.g., lab results)
• Follow up with Human Resources on problems with applicants or with scheduling.
• Evaluate employees who are returning from LOA or who have been ill for more than 7 days for ability to return to work.
• Educate employees to promote wellness, prevent health problems and maintain current health.

• Prescribe and regulate medications.
• Document all treatments, assessments, etc. in employee’s medical chart.
• Administer annual Health Assessment process; recommends follow-up or referral and follows up on referrals.
• Record and document healthcare data necessary to maintain, coordinate, and/or expedite required services.
• Collaborate with medical staff and other professional staff in coordinating all aspects of employee health care; coordinates vaccination & ensure compliance with regulations regarding handling hazardous substances, exposures, etc
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

We require:

· Licensure: Current NYS licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner

· Education: Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner Program.

· Experience 3-5 years of progressive related clinical nursing experience preferred.

· Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology.

· Excellent interpersonal and English written and verbal skills.
